Amazon has launched ad-supported, free music streaming service in the US which can be accessed on all compatible Alexa enabled devices. Those who don’t have prime membership or have not subscribed to Amazon music unlimited can have access to this ad-supported music for free. Initially, this free service is available only on Echo speakers, and other Alexa enabled devices.
This ad-supported music services currently features general interest playlist such as ‘Pop culture, 80s music or country music, etc. This way, customers can listen to free music without spending any money on it. By launching this service, Amazon is now in direct competition with Spotify. Currently, Spotify is a first streaming music service with an ad-supported free tier.
